The French Connection Hello
The French Connection
Hello, everyone!
French Connection is a contemporary fashion brand, with retail stores, online and wholesale distribution in over 50 countries around the world. Its fashion-orientated products include clothing, accessories and homeware. Its design, production and supply chain is based in London.
The company was founded in 1977 by Richard Marks and is owned by his family. He grew the business into a successful public-listed company by tapping into the logo-laden zeitgeist of the Nineties. The arresting FCUK branding was a hit, and T-shirts bearing the controversial acronym were seen gracing the shoulders of everyone from Eva Herzigova to the requisite girl-power pout or parka-wearing scowl (depending on which side of the gender divide you fell).
In 1993 Marks branched out into edgier clothing lines and by 2000 his business was booming. He was listed as Britain’s 15th richest man and even helped fund the film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, as well as setting up tennis academies in the UK and Israel.
Despite the success, it was not to last. Profits began to dwindle and in 2010, Marks sold off the loss-making Nicole Farhi label for PS5m. More store closures have followed, and yesterday, Marks confirmed 14 UK outlets would be turning their signs to closed permanently.
A notoriously gritty and The french connection hello ep obsessive crime thriller, The French Connection stars Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider as NYPD narcotics detectives Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle and Buddy "Cloudy" Russo on the trail of an illicit heroin smuggling network based in Marseille, France. The film, written by Ernest Tidyman and based on Robin Moore's book, was nominated for five Oscars, winning one for Best Picture. Its famous car chase sequence - shot without permits in real city traffic – remains grippingly realistic and spectacular.
Holly Willoughby was spotted on Wednesday’s This Morning wearing an on-trend puff-sleeve dress from French Connection Hello. The flattering midi has a fitted bodice, a pretty ditsy floral print and daring split in the skirt. It costs PS110 and is available in all sizes. She teamed the dress with her go-to Gianvito Rossi heels and styled her blonde hair into a chic side parting.
